Husky Happenings Emails

Sent to enrolled students and families starting in mid-April

Check your email for bi-monthly communications with Boston Orientation information and next steps.

Boston Orientation Registration

Registration opens in mid-April

Registration for both enrolled students and up to 2 guests takes place in the student’s Application Status Check. All students and guests must be registered to attend. Travel cannot be arranged until the student is registered for a session.

Boston Guide Checklist

Included in the May volume of Husky Happenings

The Boston Guide details everything you need to know and accomplish before starting your first day of classes. Upload a photo for your Husky Card and submit proof of immunization, among other tasks.

College Advising and Course Selection

Students will receive communication directly from their college/program as early as May and continuing through June and July.

Online advising and course selection is unique to each individual college/program. In addition to online advising, there will be an academic touch point during the Boston Orientation program.

June – August

Boston Orientation

Mandatory for first-year, transfer, and veteran students.
Optional for students transitioning from a Northeastern program (New York City Scholars, London Scholars, and Oakland students, along with those completing the NU Immerse and Foundation Year programs).
Optional for families.

Through our programs and services, we connect you with the resources and experiences that will support a successful transition into the Boston community.

Boston Online Course

Included in the mid-June volume of Husky Happenings

Mandatory for all full-time undergraduate students enrolled on the Boston campus for the first time. Family participation is optional and highly encouraged.

Students have several weeks to complete this brief online course. Learn about university resources and services. Topics include academics, residential life, campus safety, health and wellness, and student involvement, among much more.

September

Welcome Week

For newly enrolled students on the Boston campus.

From the onset of your arrival through September, engage in 200+ student programs and events to meet and reunite with friends, explore campus and the city of Boston, and kick off the fall semester.

Highlights include: Convocation, Fall Fest/Student Involvement Fair, Labor Day Extravaganza, and Boston Excursions.

Classes Begin

Fall undergraduate classes begin Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
