Boston Move-in and Housing
Students completing the N.U.in Program will be assigned a move-in date of either Saturday, January 3 or Sunday, January 4.
- Housing assignments and move-in dates will be sent to students in December. In the same communication, you’ll receive information on how to request a move-in date change, if needed.
- If possible, students should not book travel until they receive their official move-in date.

Husky 101 N.U.in Program
Husky 101 Boston Orientation is mandatory for students.
Family participation is optional and highly encouraged.
Pre-registration is not required.
Program Dates
N.U.in students will attend Husky 101 Boston Orientation the day following their assigned move-in date. The optional family program will follow the same sequence.
- If assigned a Saturday, January 3 move-in date:
then, Sunday, January 4 is the mandatory Student Orientation and optional Family Orientation. - If assigned a Sunday, January 4 move-in date:
then, Monday, January 5 is the mandatory Student Orientation and optional Family Orientation.
Schedules and Check-In
Families will be programmed in the morning, and students in the afternoon. At Check-In, you’ll receive final schedules with additional details.

Families, when making your departure arrangements, please know that time with your student becomes very limited once Orientation and Welcome Week programming begins. For overnight accommodations, click here for a listing of area hotels.
Parking
On January 4 and January 5, complimentary day parking is available to our students and guests in the Northeastern Columbus Parking Garage at 795 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA, 02120.
- Upon entering the garage, pull a ticket.
- When exiting, first scan your entry ticket, and then the barcode that will be given to you at Orientation Check-In. Scanning the barcode will remove the fee and open the gate.

Student Welcome Week

From the onset of your arrival and through January, engage in student programs and events to meet and reunite with friends, explore campus and the city of Boston, and prepare for the spring semester.
