Responsibilities
Supervision
- Serve as co-supervisor to up to 25 Orientation Leaders to conduct one-on-one meetings, create individual goals, assess progress and behavior, and evaluate job performance.
- Provide ongoing resources, training, and program feedback to Orientation Leaders.
- Intentionally create a student leader experience centering team cohesion and sense of belonging through programming, events, and recognition activities.
- Supervise a committee of Orientation Leaders in specific interest areas such as social media, inventory management, and large-scale programming.
Training and Facilitation
- Assist in the development of the Orientation Leader training schedule which focuses on job responsibilities, university policies and procedures, belonging, leadership development, team building, and customer service.
- Create and facilitate training sessions and activities during OL training.
- Co-facilitate Orientation Leader weekly staff meetings; debriefing and providing ongoing professional development.
Program Development and Assessment
- Take lead in managing key components of the orientation program such as customer service support, logistics, check-in, or session presentations.
- Create innovative ways to make orientation engaging for all students and family members.
- Support assessment initiatives.
Professional Development
- Expand your network and meet with Northeastern campus partners in various functional areas including Housing and Residential Life.
- Serve in an on-duty rotation as the main contact during Husky 101 Orientation sessions.
- Gain an understanding of how transition programming is designed and implemented at a large institution.

Requirements
- Must be a current graduate student studying student development and/or higher education. Experience in student mentoring or supervision, team-building, and leadership is preferred.
- Must demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills. Working in a fast-paced environment, Orientation Coordinators must be able to self-manage, demonstrate professional judgement and conflict management, and show initiative and creativity in their work.
- Must be available in Boston from mid-May through early August. Cannot have another full-time job. Flexibility for online classes.
